Apply for a Dog

At Freedom Canines International, we are committed to matching highly trained service dogs with individuals who will benefit most from their assistance. To qualify, applicants must reside in Texas, provide a safe and loving environment, and be able to meet the dog’s basic needs, including food and veterinary care. Additionally, we must determine that our program is the right fit for your specific needs.

The application process begins with an inquiry form. If we believe you may be a good match, we will contact you and provide a full application, which includes general information, personal references, medical inquiries (if applicable), and video submissions of your home and work environments. Once completed, we schedule an interview. If approved, you may be invited to join our waitlist, where we carefully select and custom-train the right dog for you.

When your dog is ready, you will participate in an intensive two-week team training, beginning at our facility and concluding in your home and work environments. This process ends with an initial certification evaluation. Our support doesn’t stop there—we maintain close contact throughout the life of your service dog, offering ongoing follow-up care and guidance. Recertification is required annually to ensure continued success. We are always here to help with any new needs or questions that arise along the way.
